SPRINGFIELD, MA - Be sure to get to Mackenzie Stadium early tonight as the first 250 kids receive a lightsaber on Star Wars night Presented by Berkshire Heating & Air Conditioning. The Blue Sox look to improve upon their Northern Division best 4-2 record as the Laconia Muskrats come to Holyoke.

Hopefully the force from the 501st Legion – a Worldwide Star Wars Club – helps the Blue Sox bounce back from a 5-2 defeat at the hands of the Plymouth Pilgrims on Friday night. Members of the club will be dressed as your favorite Star Wars characters and take pictures with fans during the game!

In addition – the Springfield Symphony will also be on hand with mascot Otto Scudatto! Enter for a chance to win free tickets to their pop series this weekend!

And also folks – don’t forget that it’s Saturday Night – which means it’s KFC Family Four Pack night! For the price of $35, you’ll get four tickets to the game, four sodas, four hot dogs and a coupon for a free 8-piece family meal! To purchase, simply ask the attendant at the ticket window!

Eric Freeman (Tennessee) is on the bump tonight for Valley. Freeman is 0-1 in one start for the Blue Sox, but lost a 2-0 decision on a solid performance. At North Adams Freeman pitched six innings, allowing only four hits and two earned runs. The Blue Sox bats will look to capitalize on scoring opportunities tonight as they have had trouble bringing men across the plate once reaching base. Chris Gonzalez (Delaware State) collected two doubles for the Blue Sox last night as he looks to remain hot.

We’ll see you at the game and may the force be with you!
